Default Started her up this am and "brake" light is on in dash??

So, i cant imagine how anything happened overnight but the brake light is on in the dash and the brakes went down a bit further than normal this morning. So i stop at the gas station and fill the master with almost a whole bottle of fluid and drive off thinking things are ok. Well the brakes still feel the same and the master is full. If my pads/shoes are worn down bad will that cause this light to go on as well or am i gona have to freeze my nuts off lookin for leaks after work???
Whatcha guys think?? Thanks!
Oh, its a 93 4x4 auto w/ 187,000

did the light go out?.....do you hear anything grind, scraping etc... no putting fluid in never fixes it..just park on nice clean pavement and pump the brakes if you have a leak it will show up

Probably both. But if it's leaking, that shouldn't be to hard to find. Unless the reservoir has been low of fluid for a long time. Brake line usually rust out by where they are clipped to underside. (other vehicles, or cars it would be along the frame rail) JMO!

the only time i get a "brake" light *red light on my idiot pannel* is when my Ebrake is up.. silly question but is your ebrake applied? and if not i would start by bleeding the brakes. if that doesnt work then id start looking for leaks.

It comes on for other reasons. Usually when youre low on brake fluid.
