What could the issue be when starting on a 1996 Cherokee sport ? intermintent start issues. Push the pedal to the floor and it starts and runs great. Only the initial start and is the problem ?

 

You might want to start by pulling your plugs after letting it sit for as long as it take for you to have the start problem. Check the pugs to see if they are covered in gas or when you pull the plugs if it smells like there is a lot of fuel in the head. If so you may have the injectors leaking in to the cylinders causing it to flood the engine. Give that a try and let us know what you find and we can go from there.
