squirrels bit my fuel pump wires

will I be fine just splicing the wires and putting butt connectors on the wires or. Ive heard that they have to run at a certain oem for it to work wright is that true?????

just dont use wire ant smaller than whats there now you will be good, and quit parking in the trees lol
