Default Squeeking engine noise! What do I do??

So when I'm in nuetral, and sometimes in gear as well, when i hit around 2500 rpms my jeep makes a high pitched screech and I'm trying to pin point the problem and how to fix it. I have a 98 Cherokee 4.0 and my best bet is it's a belt of some sorts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check the tension on fan belt.

as said..its the belt. Because our motors don't have an auto-tensioner this is a common problem. I replaced my belt and manually backed off the tensioner...no mo squeaky!!

is it possible to "broom stick" the noise? Meaning to listen to a stick with the other end placed on the possible noise maker. I did mine some time ago, and replaced the distributor to get rid of the noise. I replaced my daughter's distributor also to get rid of a squeak. I think the bushings in the distributor dry out and make noise, then let the center shaft wobble, which will throw a cam positioning sensor code on OBD II engines. Good Luck, hope this helps
