1999 XJ 4 dr, I finally replaced the rear seal and bumpers with a new one from Quadratech, and now it squeaks while driving on bumpy streets. I cleaned the hatch with laquer thinner, Armorall'ed the gasket and it seemed to help. The plastic hatch panel cover is beat up, the mounting holes broke and I used self tapping screws to snug it up, thinking it the squeaking was coming from it being loose. Has anyone had this problem ?

 

On my hatch the latch was the squeak just lubed it and it is gone .
