Sputtering when i come to a stop.*please help*
My 95 XJ 4.0 is having a sputtering problem when it warms up.
I just replaced the fuel pump with a new Bosch pump, a new o2 sensor "Bosch". And the fuel filter, when I took the fuel filter of the fuel was black/brown coming out of both ends. It was running PERFECT on the way back to AutoZone to return the o2 sensor wrench. Now on the way home it started jolting/sputtering when I come to a stop and nearly dies every time, I can idle it high with no problem and I can gain speed with no problem, its when I'm at cruising speeds or when I'm slowing down the jolting loss of power starts. Here's a picture with the black and brown gas coming from the old filter.
Any help would be great!

You may want to siphon fuel out and put some fresh in it. Why do you replace pump? How did the tank look inside, was it rusty? Did your fuel get old on you and varnish? I've had both of those problems. I replaced the tps on mine because when I let off the gas it would die, not right after startup but after I drove it. The tps replacement fixed mine. But that fuel looked awfully dark to me and you just replaced the pump so I'd start with tank or fuel.

Ok, I replaced the TPS sensor and it solved that problem! No more stuttering or loss of power.
I replaced the fuel pump because it was losing power on the highway and jerking, it also produced low fuel pressure.
Thanks for being patient!
My next step is to clean out the tank,I don't remember looking inside.
Symptoms of a Defective Throttle Position Sensor Following is a list of symptoms, either of or a combination of which, a car driver may experience because of a defective throttle position sensor: Bucking and jerking of the car Idle surging Sudden stalling of the car engine Hesitation while the driver of the car is trying to accelerate Sudden surge in car's speed while driving on the highway What Happens with bad Throttle Position Sensor? The data provided by TPS is invaluable for proper startup, idle and easy throttle response of the car. These operations are affected when a bad throttle position sensor feeds erroneous data to the car's computer because of which the: Engine malfunction indicator light (MIL) is turned on The driver of a car experiences difficulty while changing gears. The fuel economy of the car drops drastically. Causes difficulty in setting base-ignition-timing of the car
