i have missed 2 days of work already because of this thing. about to be 3 if i cannot find a ride.

 

ok so i got to thinking...no fire with distributor plugged in... i read earlier that if you unplug the distributor, the ECM will send a signal to the ICM to fire based off preset programs...

if i unplug the distributor, it tries to start about every 4 revolutions of the motor... i'm wondering if the distributor is turning. we had this problem on my buddy's 2.5 XJ and it ended up being the distributor gear was sheared off...

i'm going to check first thing in the morning, kinda hopeing this ISN'T it, as that would mean either the distributor gear is stripped or sheared, the cam is broke (GOD i hope not!), the end of the crank is broke off, or the timing chain is broke...

 

this thing is pissing me off. dizzy is turning.

ICM has power going in, ground is good, seems to be getting signal to fire...BUT there is nothing going out to tell the coil to fire...

bad ICM? anyone care to help, i mean i seem to be talking to myself here!

Did you check all of your grounds, trace wires to make sure they aren't damaged etc etc?
