Default Sputtering

Hello, was wondering if anyone would help me or point me in the right direction. So my problem is, when I and stopped at a light or stop sign and push the gas to take off the jeep sputters and then smooths out as I gain speed. It's just recently started doing this a week or two ago. Took it to Autozone and it gave me a code of P0705. The tech said it was a TCM issue but also the PCM. Do they talk to each other? Also I was reading on here about the neutral safety switch. Does that have anything to do with sputtering?

Just recently did a tune up on the jeep and ran great until a week or two ago.

Any help would be nice.

P0705 is the 'range selector' ie: neutral safety switch. Likely needs cleaning. .
Probably has nothing to do with the sputtering.
Nevermind the TCM and PCM talk, neither is at fault.
For the sputtering off-idle I'd suspect the usual tune up items, fuel pressure, vacuum leak or a failing TPS for starters. Any other symptoms?
What year/engine do you have?

I have some experience with this problem. Remove all the spark plugs you installed, and check that they are all correctly gapped to 0.035 inches. Clean the spark plug threads, and reinstall them without putting anything on the threads, using a proper torque wrench (!) tighten each spark plug to 25-30 lb-ft.

I would highly recommend plugs/wire/cap/rotor if you haven't done them yet. It's just cheap insurance, and is a good place to start with "sputtering" issues, though you said you did a "tune up" recently.

Plugs - Champion...auto store. Cheap. The cost of shipping usually makes it worth even double the price per plug at the store.

You can get a tuneup kit for your year most likely on RockAuto, which will have wires, cap (with good brass contacts) and rotor for like $20-25.

Just make sure to have your wires labeled, and check your old spark plugs for any weirdness (there are plenty of pics online, and here, of what you should be looking for)

Also, other possibilities could range from IAC (clean it), CCV tubes/vcg clogged (clean it), ground refreshing (clean them), plug refreshing (clean them), TPS - refer to cruiser's tips for all of these!, NSS, o2 sensor (meh....prolly not likely), maybe other possible weird intake issues?
