Default Is this the spring coil thing or gremlins??

Went to start up the XJ this morning after it sitting for a week.

I went to turn the wipers on (it was raining obviously) and they didn't move. I tried the turn signal stalk, nothing. No noise or anything.

I then tried to roll down the power windows and nada. XJ started right up and ran fine.

I had the idea to open the door, start to get out of the to and check a fuse under the hood-but due to the rain said f-it. I shut the vehicle off and started it back up. Bam. Wipers worked, turn signals worked, windows worked. Weird.

I know my driver side power window switch is on the fritz and will be replacing that soon, so I down't know if I had two separate issues here or one?

Sometimes my drivers and passenger side window won't work, unless I wiggle the switch. Took it apart and cleaned it, but broke a few hold downs-so I'm replacing it.

I heard the is a giant coil in the steering column so I was thinking maybe that's why the controls on the column weren't working? They are fine now, but what gives?

Ignition switch or bad wiring in the column.

Might be the ignition switch? Most days of the week it takes a second longer than I'd like to start. Some day, it fires right up. New plugs, wires, rotor, cap looks good too.The key can also be just about pulled out while it's running (it's that worn-the key teeth that is).

I will have to try that first. Thanks!
