Default Sport, or SE?

My 2000 XJ is confused or I am. I have a CarFax that lists it as a Sport model but it doesn't have the sport badge on it and everytime the PO took it into a repair shop the paperwork says it's an SE
Is there anyway to tell for sure?

tia,
John

Sports have door trim and usually have more options than se's. Post some pics of the interior and body, it may help.

No door trim. Does have power windows and locks. It was a cop car so the interior is pretty plain (vinyl seats, no carpet). I would guess SE but the CarFax has it as a Sport. CarFax goes by VIN so it seems as if they would have the inside skinny on what it is.

Doesn't really matter to me but some of the body parts that I need (rocker panels) are dependent on this issue. That doesn't make much sense to me either. Why would a trim package change the rocker panel specs?

The body panels and such should the same no matter what the badging is,they are gonna change the panel dies in the factory from one to another on an assembly line so you should be fine.
