my 92 xj is a off road only vehicle now. only use it at the camp. electrical nightmare, but runs fine except that every now and then(after running for 30 or 40 min) it will start to spit, sputter and cough. if i accelerate it acts like it's jumped time. seems to be coughing. i can idle on or limp on back to camp. after sitting for awhile, it will start up and run fine. i replaced the fuel filter and thought i solved the problem, but it did it again last week. any ideas?

got it. a bad fuel pump. piece of cake to replace. thanks for all the help.
