Default Spindle hub bearing "unihub" BR930014

Included among the spare parts that came with my XJ was a box with a new "spindle hub bearing" in it. This is from CR (SKD?) and is part number BR930014. I looked it up and it fits the XJ...but I don't know what it replaces.

Is this an integrated hub unit that includes the bearings? The DPO did not tell me why it was purchased and I haven't pulled the wheels to see if there is one like this installed already. Kind of a mystery to me since I've never disassembled an XJ front end.

Anybody know what's up with this?

Your exactly right, it's a unitized bearing hub.

Possibly bought as a set and previous owner never replaced? Pull the wheels seeing which is new, then swap in the new one for a maintenance baseline on them.

Thanks - I'm assuming these go on the front axle?

The DPO left one in the box. I figured he bought two and installed one...which makes zero sense to me. Either that or he bought one to cure a problem and it never got installed. The package looks old - years old - but the part inside is new.

Is this a better solution than separate parts?

Yes, front axle.

Better solution? They dont hold up to larger tires like a spindle and tapered bearing design but you also have less maintenance.
