speedo not working

I have an 89 cherokee 4.0 4x4 anhthe speedo doesn't work. how do I fix? cable or sensor or what?

old school check cable its screwed to the transfercase tail housing,check the gear also

mark the housing b4 u pull the small bolt out so you can get it back in the same place and pull it out and look at the teeth
