just put in my new transfer case and had to swap my old speedo gear into the new case cause the case came from a wrongler and had a different type of electrical connection. now my speedo dosnt work at all...


also my dash light for 4HI dosent light up. had to change that out too. what gives?

Well, when I first got my xj in September last year my speedo would dance around like crazy. I disconnected it, tried to "clean it" (i just wiped off some tranny fluid and used a q tip in the female end) and put it back in hoping it would make it better, and it ended up going out completely. I replaced the sensor and all is well.

Doesn't sound like your issue considering it has a different connection. May I ask exactly what you mean by that? You used the same sensor and harness right? Or did you have to change either?

apparently the gear is offset and i have it in backwards so the teeth arent touching the gear. just need to align the gear right. oops.

i used the old one that has the same connector as my old one.
