I just thought that everyone was driving like mad but it turns out that I was going slow. I passed one of the radar street signs they have around my place and it said I was 5 under. I even got my sisters car and passed it and it was on the dot. So what do I do? Please tell me it's a simple fix...I just replaced plugs, wires, cap, belt, and some other crud and don't really have the extra cash.

ps-Do all 4cyl xj's sound like they are running in the red at what I now find out is 65? (my cluster does not have the tach)

You need a new speedo gear, which is more work that its worth. Just look at this way - abide by your speedometer and you'll never get a speeding ticket.
And a 4-banger at 65 might SOUND like its winding out, but you've got a ways to go. Jeeps run comfortably at what others might consider "high" RPMs. They also prefer what others would might call a "high" operating temperature. Go figure. PS - I hate not having a tach too.
