Spark Plugs / Wires - Preferences?
Just thought I'd get some input on what plugs, wires and other tuneup parts everyone here recommends for the 4.0L
I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport 4dr 4.0L that is coming my way later this week with 198K on it.
I know with my other cars that there are tried and true go to parts like Autolite Copper 104's, ACDelco wires, etc.
What does everyone recommend here for these 4.0L?
I plan on placing an order on Rockauto.com in the next couple days so I appreciate any and all advice!

I bougth BWD coil boots, i think your xj has a coil rail which has no wires and e3 3.58 spark plugs, and they worked fine in my xj ill check them in a couple of months to see how they are doing because ive heard bosch platinum and e3 are not the favorite sp for a 4.0... Mine is doing very nice smooth idle and quick starts i would recommend them. many say to use champion sp

E3 plugs are terrible, and autolites arent that good either. I have bosch platinum plus plugs some ppl say bosch isnt that good but I havnt had a problem. 00-01s have coil packs so theres no wires or distributors

I think it goes from jeep to jeep because as they say e3 are terrible, they also say that of bosch so not everyone gets the same result. the e3 have not given me any trouble and i can say that my xj starts faster and has a smoother idle, i was sceptical about e3 before i bought them and now ill just use those as replacement i have bosch platinum+4 on my mustang and theyre great also so i guess it depends.

First time I have ever herd of that about E3's. I have run them since they have come out in 3 XJ's A 91,95,and 99. I have also run them in a 95 Jetta, 95 Neon, 98 Tenon, 99 Saturn. I think that is about it. But I think you get the idea. One I go through dd quick and the XJ's well I up graded every time. But Love The E3's. Better MPG's and a seat of the pants difference in all applications. Run basic premium wires and coil in all and will up grade wires and coil at some point but really not necessary at this point. Will run them till I die. And love every second of it. Tested of HP TV at 9 HP gain and for the money best gain for the $.

I'm in my 30s and have seen at least 4 spark plug gimmicks come and go in my lifetime. Seems to be a lucrative business. I'll give the E3s a try when they are 3 bucks each at Wal Mart like the Split Fires.
