Just put a stereo system into my XJ and would like to do a little soundproofing. Right now I am running without carpet so that is where the majority of my noise is coming in.
I bought some rattle trap sound deadening material on ebay which is supposed to be pretty good but want to make sure I apply properly. I repaired my one floor pan rust area and rest is clean (want to keep that way). Should I herculiner and then rattle trap on top of that or rattle trap and then herculiner on top of it? I am trying to avoid trapping moisture and creating a rust issue. Any other suggestions welcome. Ok to double up the rattle trap? I have 75 SF which seems like a lot of extra if only doing the floor...

I'm planning on putting dynamat on the door panels, rear panels and firewall. It's a sound dampening flexible material about 3/8" thick. Waiting for my stereo components to come so I only have to remove my door panels once.
