Default Sometimes no crank

I have a stock 1998 Cherokee classic. The other day when i went to start it when i turned the key all the lights and radio came on but nothing happened when i tried to crank it. I tried again and it fired right up. Then the next day it would not start after many tries so i hit the starter a few times and it was fine. I took the starter to get tested and they said it was fine so i cleaned all the connections and it has worked for a couple of days, but today i tried to start it and it didn't start the first time but the second try it fired right up. When it first started doing this it would start fine about 80% of the time but then randomly it just wouldn't. Any Ideas? Any Suggestions would be appreciated.

Next time it happens try starting it in Neutral. If it start it's the NSS.

I have a 98' classic too and when my jeep did he same thing I did research ad found that it was the neutral safety switch. Before you go replacing stuff like your starter , make sure you dot just have a loose connections. Don't ask me how I know. :/
