Default Something loose in drivetrain?

Whatever it is, has been getting worse over the past few months. When starting the vehicle, there is something audibly loose, that is shaking. It will happen when in park, drive, reverse, with and without the torque converter locked. Also will happen in 4wd and 2wd. While driving it happens from time to time, but always when the steering wheel is turned a bit to the left. Not necessarily the right though. Any ideas? Power steering pump maybe?

Mine did the same thing except steering did not change it. Turned out to be a worn tranny mount where it attaches to the crossmember. The engine/tranny was sagging down and the exhaust pipe was banging into the crossmember making a racket. The new mount cost 35 bucks at napa and took about a 45 min to install and cured the problem.

Thanks, I'll check that in the morning. The steering could be an entirely separate problem.

Okay, checked it out. The exhaust pipe is definitely resting on the transmission cross-member like you suggested. What did swapping it out entail? I've ordered the mount and should have it by the weekend. I'm at college with only a scissor jack and some wrenches/socket sets. Was there anything you can remember offhand that came in handy? Thanks

i had the same problem, i thought the tranny was gonna fall right out but it was that mount and the exhaust! i could push up on the t-case and move it 3 or 4 inches to both sides!
