something isnt right

Default something isnt right

went 4 wheeling yesterday in my 90 jeep cherokee pioneer and got stuck.I put it in (n) then 4L 4wd.the pass side rear tire was spinning fast and the driver side rear was spinning slow.the front wheels wasnt doing anything at all.no light came on saying it was in 4wd but it felt like it engaged.does anyone have any ideas

you have a CAD front axle most likely check your vacuum lines and i would look at locking the ring permanently to where that is not an issue again

rear axle is probably the lack of a locker (open differential). I don't know about the fronts though.

okay so that changes my response.


if you have the 249 (4 full time - n - 4 lo)

then the VC (viscous coupler) has gone bad. they are not to hard to change just VERY VERY expensive.

it will be easier and cheaper to swap in a 242 or 231 transfer case

to the op, check your vacuum (spelling?) lines as mentioned above. they love to dry rot.
