I picked up a soundbar and it had a dome light with a button attached. I took off the button and put a rocker switch on the tried giving it power didn't work l the switch lit up but no light so I took the bulb from mine and put it in and tried plugging it where my dome light goes and it still didn't light up. The switch did but no light. Is this dome light bad did I do something wrong or can I fix it

It looks like there are 3 terminals on your rocker switch..are they hooked up correctly, how many terminals on pushbutton. When is the light in the rocker illuminated when switch on or off. You might need a 2 terminal rocker with no light did the rocker come with an install schematic we can see or is it printed on the rocker switch

 

One of your connections needs to go to the center terminal of the switch. Then you will have oneswitch position "on" and two positions "off". The outer terminals have no connection between them, only the center, common terminal connects with each outer terminal separately.
