Some lift advice.
I'd like to put a lift on my 90 XJ that I recently purchased. Take a peek underneath and you'll see some very very tired leaf springs. So my thoughts on a lift that I'd definately would have to purchase some new leaf packs. No problem.
My local 4wd store has a few different options. Do I pay the 325.00 CAD for the 3" AAL lift with shocks, or the 3" Leaf system with shocks for 675.00 CAD, or the 4.5" AAL with shocks for 607.00CAD. The reason I mention the AAL is that we have a lot of pick you parts up here and I keep hearing about bastard packs? Don't know much about them. Is there something I could pull off of another vehicle that would give me the 3" of height or 4.5"?
Thanks,
Guy

i agree. bastard packs are homemade leaf packs from s10's. they are a great alternative from buying new packs for someone who is on a budget or just likes building homemade parts for their rigs. BUT, from what ive seen bastard packs can only hold their shape for so long, at some point they will sag just like the stock XJ ones. your better off getting new packs instead, yea it may hurt the wallet but atleast you will know they will outlast bastard packs. good luck man.
