I posted a thread some time ago explaining my problem with my jeep randomly dying while driving and it not cranking back up for a few minutes. Was told by a few it was the CPS and they were right, but not that it was bad. I will post pics later today but for now ill just explain. I was heading to summervill in my jeep, and the "problem" it had seemed to hit an extreme. My jeep was dying ever 1000 feet or so and took 2-3 minutes to crank back up (on the side of the road) after an hour drive that should have took ten minutes, me and my buddy popped the hood and started our investigation. Long story short, the CPS was acting up because there was little mount that holds the wire for the CPS that just so happens to be placed directly beside the exhaust manifold. broke the already melted clip and moved the dripping plastic hot wire away from the manifold and BOOM!!!! problem solved requires no removal of the CPS, only undo the plug running into the harness and move it over... that simple lol

IF your jeep is acting like mine check how close your CPS wire is to your manifold, after doing this i have had no more problems at all with it.

I remember ... someone said they had a frayed wire. Chrysler must have changed the design. My wire is nowhere near the exhaust.

I'm working on a 95 grand that has that problem. Runs great, then just dies....the people that tried to figure it out before me, replaced 2 distributors. I've gone through an IAC, TPS, CKP. Its driving me and the owner nuts...the thing is, if its starting to die, and you feather the pedal, it stays running. When it does die, sometimes it starts right up, other times it won't till it cools down. I'm thinking a fuel issue. So, going to tape the fuel pressure gauge to the windshield, and drive. If thats ok, I'm going to try a ECU.. Let you guys know what happens.
