So which ATF+4 do I use for my tranny and transfercase

So which ATF+4 do I use for my tranny and transfercase
Choices are below and are they all synthetic is my second question, are they all the same.

Okay i decided to open my eyes and read it definatley uses ATF+4 for cherokee and probably anything else.
"Meets Chrysler Material Standard MS-9602. It is designed as a factory fill fluid for all 1988 & later Chrysler Corporation automatic transmissions & transaxles"
SO NEXT QUESTION HOW MAN QTS DO I NEED FOR THE TRANSFER CASE?

the aw4 is not a chrysler transmission, it is a toyota transmission, it uses dexron III.
Yes, they did release a TSB at one point, but it was later *silently* removed from the list.
Some people get away with it, others dont make it 10mi down the road. Is that a risk you want to take?

AW4 = Aisin Warner 4 Speed
It is the only automatic transmission used in a 4.0 cherokee. If you have an auto trans, you have the aw4.
Use the fluid recommended by the FACTORY, not the vehicle manufacturer.

Dex III/Merc is the correct stuff... Put it in be happy....
Chrysler didn't design, buy or specify the AW-4. Aisin Warner and Toyota(the other AW-4 user) NEVER specified ATF +4. Chrysler owns ATF+4, so they have a vested intrest in selling that to you. While AW-4s were under warranty by the thousands Chrysler's TSB specifically exempted AW-4s from ATF+4 recommendations. It wasnt until 2007 when all but '01 models would have had their warranties expire, so Chrysler wouldn't be on the hook for tranny failures caused by using ATF+4 in the AW-4.
So ask yourself two things... Why after exempting the AW-4 for 18+ years in ATF+4 recommendations why suddenly did Chrysler start recommending it??
Also.. we know what came from the factory(Dex II,III), why would you want to change that???
