how well do xjs go in the snow i live up like a 1/2 mile dirt road and it gets slick fast and i was just curious ive never owned a jeep or even drove one i know my friend had one and we took it up some pretty steep hills but it was dry

I live in Wisconsin so i drive in snow alot never have any problem just throw a sandbag in and drive a little slower oh and good tires help

Even from my limited experience driving my XJ in the snow thus far this winter I have realized that they handle well in the snow but as with any vehicle use extra caution when the weather sucks.

On the road in snow my XJ is great. Just put her in 4 HI and slow down for the conditions. On the trail in the snow she is even better. Air down to about 5-10 PSI, 4 LO and have fun. Take it easy in the corners and NAIL IT on the steep hill climbs!!! As long as you have a 11.5 - 12.5 wide tire it will float like a Butterfly...LOL.

Michigan I drive down steep dirt roads and it has no problem maybe spins the tires a little but i have terrible tires but if you do get on it the rear end will kick out spin 180* but thats normal with rear wheel drive so overall I love my jeep in the snow

I live in Chicago, I won't drive nothing except my XJ's in winter. I usually end up makin a few bucks pulling people out of drifts/ditches/whatever...

just remember its not getting going in the snow thats the problem its stopping. its great to change into 4 wheel drive to get better traction but u are always in 4 wheel stop so be careful lol

Great advise. Too many 4X4ers just go nuts on the road and I've seen way to many that I've been passed by and then seen off the side because they were driving like idiots. Just remember that 4WD is a wonderful tool and always drive cautiously in bad weather! And just have fun!:thumbsup:

i usually have it in 2wd in snow so i can have some fun when no one is around swingin the back end around, but when its snowing hard and the roads are insanely slippery, i use 4hi and its like driving on pavement. gotta love 4wd!

lol... ^ You should take a ride with me sometime when I get it into a 4 wheel drift in 4WD.... lol :rofl:

so how low do you guys go with your tire presure without bead locks? im scared to go to low cuz i dont wanna blow a tire off the bead.

Lol yeah, im in cali i havnt gottn my xj up to jeepin standards but i've pulled people out of the dunes we have... man tow companies want 500.00 to ENTER the dunes... people gladly tip!

Those guys who think they can just shift in to 4WD and go as fast as they want to in the snow are great. I've made much money pulling their stupid a$$es out of the ditch...LOLOLOLOL:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
