Default Smoky,Gearbox failure Think its my torque converter??

So driving home last night and i start getting loads of smoke and my cherokee wont change gear(Automatic) anyway next minute theres loads of smoke in the car so i stop bail out and discover a little fire underneath the gearbox. Think the bits of fire were the gunk i put in to stop the leak i thought i had.Anyway does anyone know if this would be the box or the converter?

Any help would be great as i live on a island you cant do much without a 4x4!!!

trans fluid has a low flashpoint... it can get on the converter and ignite pretty easily.
