I have vents cut into my hood. I was idling in a parking lot the other day and saw wisps of gray/white smoke coming out of one of them. I opened the hood and saw the smoke was coming from below the valve cover near the back of the engine couldn't see exactly where. Seemed like oil on hot exhaust manifold?
I assume bad basket. How to tell which one? If I'm wrong, what do you think it is?

If you have an oil leak at the back of the engine, rear main, valve cover etc...it will drip down on the exhaust where it crosses underneath the rear of the engine and burn off causing it to smoke.
