No. Nobody said that. Take time to reread the posts before jumping on the keyboard.

As I and others have said, don't spend another dime on it throwing parts at it until you pay to have a diagnosis done, by a professional, for a definitive answer.

Don't be an askhole. When you do what we have told you, come back and report.

If you're hardheaded enough not to do that, then you're on your own.

If i was you i would be looking for the leak, it could be something as easy as a bad hose. 1. Pop the hood. 2. Start your engine. 3 get a flash light. 4. Start taking a look at each hose, you may want to squeeze one of the hoses after it's warm. Just take it one step at a time. Does your heater work at all? Does the jeep run ruff?

Okay, I'm guessing you're young and don't have a lot of experience yet. No problem - we were all there once. The thing is to not stay there.

Here's a good life lesson for you:

  • Idiots throw parts at a problem.
  • Smart people troubleshoot to find the root cause.
  • Forums like this are full of both kinds.
  • Don't be the first kind.
  • Don't listen to the first kind.

Already in this thread you're ready to Seafoam/buy new car/ replace engine/ replace cooling system.

SLOW DOWN!

You don't need to buy anything or replace anything yet.

FIRST
you need to find out what's wrong. You don't do that by listening to people who tell you to start DOING things before you KNOW why you're doing it.

It's shaping up to be a wonderful Christmas ha

My dads storage unit got broken into and all his tools got stolen so if can't do anything with it yet. I'm prolly gonna end up getting a block tester from autozone to see if the head gasket is bad cause if it is I'm prolly just gonna get a new one. If not I'm gonna check the thermostat and water pump and go from there

Is it overheating or just leaking coolant and smoking?

Tell me more about this wonderous Autozone block tester that diagnoses bad head gaskets.

Yeah the only block tester I've heard of is to check for cracks such as in between the cylinders on the block itself ( Which would require removal of the head). So i'm really not sure what your referring to.

Hmmm. There is a kit that will test for combustion products in the coolant, which would indicate a bad head gasket or a cracked head or block.

I don't know if Autozone carries it.

Not block, cooling system tester. It has an air pump and a fitting that replaces the radiator cap. Install it and pump it up to see what leaks. Be advised there are core plugs located on the drivers side of the engine block "behind" the intake and exhaust manifolds that are notorious for leaking. After that test you can check the radiator cap as well. Don't buy anything just yet.
