Sliced a tire AGAIN, buying 4 new ones now.
Well out on the trails today I sliced my 2nd tire since i've had the new ones. Since i've been planning on moving up to 33's for a while now, I dont think im going to just replace it, but just buy 4 new tires.
Since im looking for something with way tougher sidewalls then what I have now (Cooper Discoverer ST's) im thinking about either Super Swamper TSL's in 33x12.50 or maybe the SS LTB's in 33x13.50. Does anyone have any experience with these tires, just wondering what people think of them? I'm building my Jeep more for Rock Crawling but I drive through some mud occasionally, mostly im just sick of having to buy new tires after slicing or puncturing them. My Jeep is a daily driver but all of the disadvantages of Super Swampers that i've heard is stuff I couldn't care less about; Ride Quality, Noise, Treadwear, that sort of thing. My Jeep isn't built to be a luxury vehicle, and besides going to the trail's I don't go more than like 15-20 minutes from home often anyways.
I have 15x8 soft 8's with 4 inches of backspacing, and I have a 3 inch front, 4 inch rear lift with trimmed fenders and Bushwackers (Soon to be 5 inches, but have to put buying the parts on hold since I need tires now) will I be able to run the 13.50 LTB's or will they rub like crazy meaning I should stick with the regular 12.50 width TSL? I also have stock gears as well, I was planning on having them regeared to 4.88 but that's going to have to be on hold for a month or so now that I have to buy new tires, how will my 3.55 gears handle 33's?

You may need to be more careful around the sharp rocks, or whatever you are slicing them on. Most offroad tires have pretty reasonably strong sidewalls, but they all have their limits...
Rubbing will depend completely on bumpstops and tire backspacing, instead of the tire itself. You may end up rubbing when turning with 13.5's and 4" backspacing. If you flex an aggressive tire like that into the bushwackers, they can do a lot of quarter panel damage. Bumpstops!
