ok, since im farely new to jeeps, im wondering what the buttons on the dash for the tranny does, and how exactly to shift this bugger into 4x4, it always seems very hard to do, thx for the help
by buttons on the dash i take it you mean the power and comfort settings with the automatic. i believe they just change the lock up tourque converter.
and as far as 4 wheel drive to go in to 4 hi just stop and put it in. with 4 low stop put the jeep in neutral and pull it into 4 lo setting. and remember unless you have the 242 t-case ( with the option of full time 4 hi)

I run mine on the power setting..basically in 92 all jeeps auto trany shift points match what the power setting did for 91 and older jeeps..The comfort was in there to help with mpg's and make it shift smoother.. If I had my owners manual I'd give ya the exact description they give..
As for shifting into 4wd...put it in neutral and shft away...it can be touchy but you will get the feel for it, just don't force it.
