Hi. Since I've been working on my 98 XJ, every time I need to jack the axles, I've been going off the control arms at the axle in the front and around the shock mounts in the back. But yesterday I took the control arms down and realized that they're actually pretty cheesy metal. Now I'm re-thinking my choice of jack points.

What's the best place to jack the front axle to get it on jack stands? And the best place for the stands?

i just lift on the axle shaft itself just give yourself room to put your stands

BTW.....nice fish. Doesn't look from the picture (pretty small) like anything we'd catch here in the NE. You take your Jeep on the sand a lot?

 

i use the pumpkin to jack her up

 

red grouper, yes to the sand, and the pumpkin is a good lift point as well especially on the rear axle
