shuddering engine
Hi all. the nephews 88 xj is now starting on the first try and idles ok, but as soon as it gets under any kind of load, putting it in gear or turning the wheel it shakes real bad and dies. Timing chain? any advice would be awesome. 4.0 with an auto.

Motor mounts aren't going to cause a stall with the power steering pump.
Have you checked fuel pressure? I think them Renixes should be at 49 PSI at the rail.

I had a broken mount once, and when it would go into gear, or turn the wheel, it would buck something fierce and die....just sayin', easy enough to check
