Depends..if you can find a cheap donor that has 4wd already and a good t-case and tranny then I would do it. If you can't then buy one with 4wd.Just my opinion anyways..

I say convert! I am in the same situation and totally plan on converting as soon as I gather all the parts needed to do it. I've got too much time and money in my junk to just give it away and buy some other previously abused XJ. If you are just getting started though, and your rig is still stock, it may be better to just sell it and buy a 4x4. Once you have alot of history with your rig it's just too darn hard to part with it though...

depends on how much you're in love with your current jeep. it is gonna cost more to swap usually than to sell and buy one with 4x4, especially when you factor in the many many hours.

but if you love what you got, and have started moding it already, it might be worth swapping.

save yourself the time and money if you look hard enough you can find these things for fairly to me its not worth the time it takes to convert just get the 4x4 one and save yourself the headaches just my 2 cents tho

I would say if you got a donor just convert it. Me and my friends did one 2 weekends ago. it took 4 days to get it 100% ready to go. But we also had a full shop at our disposal.
