Should I buy another xj or a zj?
I currently own a 90 Laredo with a small lift, beat up body, ect. The plan was to sell it soon as it passed smog, but I love it! My wife wants a wrangler, but as of now I can get another 90 stock xj with the same 4.0 for 200.00 or a 94 grand cherokee limited all time 4-wheel drive with the 5.2 liter for 500.00 Both need TLC, I know a lot of what to do with the 90, don't know squat about the 94. But it's nothing I couldn't figure out with help from this sight and similar ones. Both have sat for a number of months. Anyone got a strong opinion on which way I should go? I might try to get them both and sell one. I got bit by the off road bug so I'm trying to least keep the one I have, even though it needs shocks, ect. It's a jeep, it'll always need something.

For those prices I'd buy both, I can only assume with a little TLC you could flip the one you don't like for profit to be invest into the one you decided to keep.

Unless I'm reading wrong you might want to hold off on the XJ and the ZJ and get that wrangler instead, it would be a shame to give up such good deals but the wife might not be happy if she doesn't get what she wants.

I love zjs but never had one with a 5.2. Do you have any idea what's wrong with them......why they've been sitting? What's mileage? If they're easy fixes I would buy both and flip one

Show us pics of the 90. (including the one with no cracks showing at the upper corners, outside the hatch hinges) How many miles?
I'd fix my 90 forever, but cracks there, (and the hatch hitting the tale-light sometimes), and even cracks top-rear of the passenger door frame.....the 4.0 and AW-4 is dragging the body to bits, (fine and strong at 280K).
I'd love to find a 90 with a decent body for $400 myself.

Hell buy both of them and fix up the XJ and sell it then keep the ZJ for a DD a lot more comforts in it.
I have my 99 and then for my DD a XJ Sport mostly off road, then for a DD an 04 Grand Cherokee "Overland" 4.7HO loaded with every option Jeep offered and everything works. It even has a few options that my 2013 Lincoln Town Car doesn't have lol and its well optioned.
