Default Shocks measured at full flex...longer?

I have about 4.5 lift in the back (bumping up to 6 with some lift blocks soon for a temp lift), a little over 6 in the front I think. Front shocks are 25.75/15 and rear 25/14.5. At full flex in the front the extended shock will top out (full travel) and the compressed one has about 4 inches of travel left before bottoming out (full compression) The tire has plenty of room before stuffing. The rear shocks are both far from topping out and bottoming out because they are on stock mounts and not angled so it dont flex too well (future project). Anyhow I need to order new shocks badly and was thinking of going about 2-3 inches longer to get better flex outta the font. Think this is a good idea? Also, what brands do yall recommend for an xj? I wanted rubicon monotubes but they are on backorder with their manufacturer.
