Default Shifts Hard After Fluid Change

2 weekends ago I changed out the rear differential fluid in my 94 XJ. I noticed the next day anytime I put it in gear, its a VERY hard jolt. When I read the manual it said to get an additive for the rear fluid, but the fluid i bought said it was "limited slip ready" and had the additive added.

Should I still add some to it? This hard shifting only happend AFTER I changed the rear differential fluid. I did notice it seems to not be as bad after driving for a while.

Are u sure u have a lsd? Usually, the additive is only necessary if there's lsd clutch chatter and that's only when making a sharp left/right turn.

Im not 100% sure mine is limited slip. But last time I got stuck in sand, only one tire would spin so I assumed it was. It only SLAMS into gear when shift from park...

LSD is a traction enhanced diff.....torque to both/opposite wheels......an open diff allows for "one tire fires" as u describe. No additive is needed in an open diff.

How long since last tranny service?
