Fluid is fine, unhooked the linkage and have it pushed into 2wd manually as far as it will go. I've backed up several times with no result. when turning it is choppy as if it is still engaged. Thoughts? Oh, it has 311k on it. Haha

 

How are your front u joints. It's not being in 4wd that's the problem when the front hops. The ujoints are binding. They bind earlier when power is applied.

 

I'll have to check them out. Used 4wd for the first time in a while recetly. maybe that was enough to do them in. Thanks toasterknight

 

No problem. I thought the same thing when mine went out.

 

Might be time to park the ol' girl for awhile. I'm losing anti freeze mysteriously too. I know what that means.....
