Also I just started a thread asking, but does anyone know if the brake size on an 01 D35 with ABS is 9 or 10" so I can buy that cylinder? thanks
(re: "check the fill plug before draining")
Let's say, to pick a purely hypothetical example, that you decide that you're going to be nice to your car and put fresh gear oil in the transaxle. So you drain the old stuff out, you have your suction gun and a couple bottles of fresh gear oil all lined up, then you reinstall the drain plug and go to remove the fill plug so as to put the new stuff in. However, the fill plug is seized in its hole, and you're sweating bullets (partly from fear, and partly because you're waving a torch at the bastard) hoping that it'll actually come out before your eight point socket strips and/or the head on the plug mungs itself up, otherwise you're left with an undriveable car because there's no loob in the transmixer...
Not that I've ever done that or anything. No, not me. Never happened to me. (and I'll bet it never happens more than once to anyone... at least anyone smart...)

You can't live in New England and work on cars without access to blow torches, plasma cutters, and PB by the gallon. Most of the time if you can tell where the nut ends and the stud begins then you're having a pretty good day.
I always wonder how the alignment shops can get anything done......
