Default Sensor question for a tech. Or those really familiar with 00 xj's

I got my new engine in my xj a while back and got it running. It runs great when its cold, once it warms up it stalls and doesn't want to restart. I have two 02 sensors in my exhaust header, just switched them over from my old engine. I cannot for the life of me find where they plug into. I thought that might be causing my issue once it warms up. I have crawled all over that thing lookin for the mating parts on the wiring harness. My xj is a federal emission not a Cali version. I looked at a coworkers 2000 xj federal spec at work today. No 02 sensors in the manifold, it just has plugs in the bungs.

I had the engine replaced a few years back because I cracked a piston skirt. Is it possible that I had a Cali spec engine swapped into my xj with the sensors in the manifold and just drove it without them hooked up? Am I chasing two plugs that may not exist?

This is from the 2000 xj FSM. it says the Cali has 2 sensors in the manifold.

This is the federal spec. The version I have. It shows no sensors in the manifold at all.

I am wondering if maybe I dont have anywhere to plug this into. My idle issue may be caused by something else. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Unless you have the Cali spec wiring and PCM there won't be anywhere to plug those additional sensors in. Do you have the plugs for the pre and post-cat sensors down lower? Are those installed and operating?

I do not have Cali wiring. So that pretty much explains it. I have the other two sensors installed. The sensor in the cat. Conv. Is new because I could not get the old one out of the old cat when I replaced it.

I guess I won't spend any more time looking for this plugs. I just need to track down why it won't idle now.
