security system
My daughter owns a 91 cherokee and she locked her keys in it. a freind of hers used a slim jim to try and open it . can not imagime the response i am going to receive here.now the battery goes dead overnite and the only way to disarm is to go to backhatch with key after jumping batt, do not have a key fob. key use only.factory system... is there anyway to simply disconnect whole system out of service. thanks

Ripped a wire in the door that is completing a circuit when touching metal, buy a short locator and go to it. Or remove the door panel and repair any loose wires/connections.

Problem with the factory alarm is the switch is connected directly on the backside of the lock cylinder.
Always in the line of fire when the door is slim-jim'ed.
When looking for the broken/demolished wire...look high. It'll be very difficult to find it.
Want to disarm? Easiest is not to arm it. When exiting the vehicle do not rely on the PDL. Have the doors locked manually. The system gets a signal from the PDL switch to activate. ( Or from the "eye in the sky" a.k.a. infra-red remote button on the overhead console)
