I have a 1998 xj 4.0 and recently came to it and would start but only run for a second or two, made sure it had enough fuel in it, then I checked the coolant as was told if this was to low then it will cut itself off. Tried again and battery seemed flat so went to jump it and security light is on now how can I reset it ?

Try locking and unlocking with the factory remote , that should disarm...also try locking and unlock drivers door key cyl (assuming it has vtss)
