Seattle with a broken water pump
Hi! I'm new to the site but figured you guys are the best to ask!
My Aunt B signed over her old '95 XJ that hasn't run in 3-5 years to me. She said she parked it because it needed a new water pump. The body is in great shape and has never been in any car accidents or other issues. It has 130K miles.
I'm aware that I will need a new battery, water pump, tires, and drain the oil and gas.
Is there anything else that I need to be concerned about?
Thank you!

Will it start?
I'm not sure I would go to far past replacing some fluids if it won't start.
If it won't start, you don't want to spend a lot of much money on a dead horse.
Just my 2 cents.

Just a couple weeks ago I filled up with Chevron Priemum with Tecron prier to a smog test. It sort of suprized me when the check valve in my pump started seating. I juess there actually is something to that stuff.
I'd change the fuel, check fluid's run it till it's warm, then change coolant, oil and tranny fluid. Bleed the brakes thoroughly. (Napa Gold oil filter) Dexron III in the tranny. You could top off the Transfer case with that as well.
If the tires have tread, take it in and have them balanced and rotated. If there is a problem they should catch it.
Anyway, there's some thoughts. Oh, and, WHAT A SCORE!
