seat bases and seat belts

seat bases and seat belts
Read that a 95 seat base would work in my 98 so I brought one home from the pick and pull.
It bolts right up but it turns out the seat belt was attached to the power base of my 98 and to the floor of the 95.
Any work arounds or did I make a $10 mistake.
