sealed cooling just got hot...
and by hot i don't mean cool, LOL
okay, so i hate the sealed system. i can't replace it as of yet on my 89 but yeah, i've got some crazy leak up near the reservoir and I don't know how to fill it all back up. please advise me on this. I thought i'd take a hose off and fill it that way but there must be a secret.

could be the reservoir has a crack, had an 89, and it was notorious for cracking reservoir bottles, u need to run a cooler temp in the coolant (maybe different thermostat, or better fans, or a new radiatorif possible)

prolly just a coolant bottle crack. but it should just leak, not overheat.
if it's overheating, check and/or replace thermostat, waterpump or even the rad.
in my case, i replaced all that and it was the rad all along. pulled a good one from a wrecker for 40 bux.

yeah, you can do that to top it off. but to fill from say empty, i'd fill it through the upper rad hose.
it is also possible there may be an air lock. you would have to "burp" the system by backing it up a steep embankment to get the bottle up higher than the rad, and remove the cap and let it idle to let out any air.
this may not work at times, so you'd have to burp it out through the temp sensor hole by removing the sensor.
