Default Screwed motor

The dreaded knock began, power became sluggish, then she shut off while on the highway. Also blew a head gasket while at it. Also a few more things lmao. Will be swapping motor but look at this spark plug! I'll take pics while taking apart engine. If you have any ideas on what you think happened then let me know. I'm thinking she spun a bearing which ended in a chain reaction of a few things but I don't really know haha

Well the person before be definitely didn't treat her right. I bought it as a project but didn't expect the motor to blow lol.

Either that or the piston ring hit it. But I don't doubt that lmao

Now it's a little bigger "project" or you can always use it as a lawn ornament.

Piston was torn apart and thrown down to the oil pan. Also cracked the engine block while she was at it. Oh, not to mention I discovered a crack in the frame. And the right front brake is completely inoperative. I always wondered why it pulled so hard to the left when I hit the brakes. Lucky I didn't fall through the floor though. I thought I had floor pans, but the whole time I was looking at spray painted carpet. The guy before me was very good at hiding things. It was also -5° out so I was just trying to get it over with. But yeah that's how my life's going LIVE AND LEARN

Mark and about all of it can be put in a 5 gal. bucket to haul away.

If all he stated is wrong with it may be time to buy another XJ and pull a few parts off of this one and take the rest to the scrap yard.

Looks almost like a lack of antifreeze cracked the cylinder and then that's what fractured the piston. C'est la vie

When my Chevy 6 did that on #3 150 miles from home, I pulled the pan then the rod from the bottom, then loosened the rockers on #3 and went on home! That there is gonna need the extra strength JB weld me thinks...
