Default Safari rack

Anyone know anything about these Surco safari basket racks. I want a safari rack but can't afford a $300 rack. Any suggestions.

I have had these on my last two XJ's. About $200 for rack and rails. I have found it to be very sturdy.

I have this one bought through another forums for sale section. Had to convince the PO to disassemble it and ship it. He originally wanted local pickup only. It looks a little different than in these old pics, but essentially the same. Sides are plated now and one side has a HiLift mount while the other has a shovel mount.

Surco is a very common rack, highly recommended. They run at a great price and frankly I would run one if I had use for it.

This is a Top Hat roof rack. They are reasonably priced and so far seems to be a good one. I have had a Con Fer in the past and I like this one better because it is bigger. Hope this helps make your choice, later!!

YUP!!

I was gonna have a local fab shop build one with a similar design...but I kept getting the run-around as far as pricing and a timeline were concerned, and I ended up buying a KargoMaster rack. (I didn't have a shipping address in the US and Duties/taxes made it waaaay too much for me) I kind of wish I would have ordered one of Kevin's instead though. Mine does the trick for what I need, but for a few more bucks, These are much nicer racks!
