Rusted Out Undercarriage
While my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport looks to be in good condition overall, I have a serious rust problem that I don't know how to resolve. The right mounting plated for my front shocks has rusted away, and the shock is just hanging there. Since the mounting plate is welded to the front axle, I don't know how to resolve the problem other than picking and installing a used / junkyard from axle that has functionally sound mounting plates.
Has anyone else ever encountered this, and how did you handle it.
Thanks.
Larry

I replaced the entire front axle housing with a junk yard used one.
If you can weld, there are shock mounts and perches you can weld on, but it is also a lot of work.
Until I fixed mine, I was getting death wobble.
I wish there was an easier way.
Good luck.
