rust repair advice

Default rust repair advice

decided to check out how bad the inside if my door was today. i could tell it was bad but i didnt realize it was this bad. i cut the rust out and its left a pretty big hole. looking for the best way to replace it. this isnt my jeep but the area painted red is pretty much the problem but on the other door. i can post a picture of mine tomorrow if anyone really needs it not sure the best way to fix this so just looking for advice. got a friend whos an excellent welder just need to let him know what were doing. thanks

You either need to fabricate a piece to fix it, or cut some metal out of a donor.

of all things i use old appliances for donor sheet metal. it's super cheap to buy a busted washing machine and take what you need. but if you need certain shapes, curves, bends, then a donor door,fender... might be the thing.

For easier assembling, a donor would be best. For ease of finding, that dependants on your area.
