Or that the wire is rusted in the wire liner.

Cut your wire just between the rollers on feeder and remove the liner, gun and all and make sure its just not stuck in the liner or tip. I have seen few times if the roller for feeder aren't set up correctly and if wire sticks feeder keeps feeding instead of slipping and gets wadded up inside the liner.

The machine was set up correctly, the machine stopped working mid welding from one spot to the next, and was working beautifully. The wire was not rusted and I actually pulled some out. The wheel motor is not spinning when I hit the trigger, but I do hear it activating when I pull the trigger. So I'm at a loss. I read that maybe the thermo switch cut power and let it cool off. I'll start it up tmw and further investigate.

Yes, first thing I checked, pulled the reset out, stopped working all together, pressed it back in, fans and everything turned on, still no feed.

Maybe it has also a fuse? Is there a way to get to the feed motor and see if its getting power at all? I'm just throwing stuff out there but if its under warranty guess time to send it out.

It's a weld pak 140 hd.

Bought it off a old military navy welder in the box. He never used it but had it sitting there for some time. Like I said everything worked great. I'm guessing I'm stuck without a warranty. So I'll have to open it up and see if the wheel is getting power. But it's likely more then that as I pulled the wire out to the tip and tried to tack clean metal and there was no arc.

Wondering, have you tried it without the extension cord? I know on my welder (not a Lincoln) if I use a long extension cord say 50ft or more on 110v usually it'll die and give me a alarm code about the power.

Yes I have. Directly to a 30 amp outlet. Starting to think the motor is toast. Very frustrating after literally 4 uses. I've read on the home depot reviews some people have this problem out of the box.

hmm. maybe try contacting lincoln electric and see what they say.

that one being the HD model, is from home depot. lotta people think the HD means heavy duty, but nope, means Home Depot. it's a different model from the one here in canada, but ours still have the HD on it. exclusive to home depot.
you can maybe ask someone at home depot whether they have dealt with this issue in the past, and whether they can give you a direct contact.
