Sorry for the late reply, but yes. I guess when the engine got hot it melted the insulation back. It's been a few months now and electrical tape seems to have done the work.
I would like to replace the wiring as an entire unit but I haven't found (after very little searching) an O2 wire assembly yet.

yah yah lol - I replaced the O2 from the beginning and looked at all the "usual" spots for wear and tear. Turns out it was where the two connect. it wasn't until I was able to cut the harness away from the block and sprayed off all the grease that I found the problem.. #parkinglotmechanics

I hear ya. Gravel driveway mechanics is no fun and I can't remember the last time I had working AC.
This beast helps the gravel driveway issue. Not a panacea, but it's worth the money.
